The Pico 4 will be available for pre-order from the 23rd of September until the 15th of October. After this the Pico 4 headset will begin shipping and be available for direct purchase.
Pico 4 has a super form factor and comfort stemming from its pancake optics making the front of the device only ⅓ the size of the Pico Neo 3 Link and a weight of 295 grams. The device comes with a balanced weight distribution from its battery on the back. This makes the device comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.
Pico 4 has a crystal clear visual experience with a 2160 x 2160 resolution about 35% more than standard 4K. The field of view of the device is 105 degrees substantially more than the Quest 2 and Neo 3 Link. The device also has better saturation rates and pixel density giving it a more visually immersive experience.
Pico 4 will come with full-color video passthrough for mixed reality features. This enables easier area-tracking in your real world and an easier time finding your controllers.
The new Pico 4 controllers have improved comfort from their better ergonomic design and button layout. For example, the tracking rings are pivoted diagonally to not get in the way of your hands. The Pico 4 also comes with integrated hand tracking, Lastly, the Pico 4 controllers will also have sharing at their center with a dedicated screenshot button. Similar to what we see on PlayStation’s controllers.
The Pico 4 will give users access to both the Pico Store and SteamVR store. This will offer over 4500+ titles to users. The Pico store is one of the fastest growing libraries and Pico has announced many exclusive titles, applications and live virtual events will be coming at a rapid rate in the coming months. The Pico 4 can be used for SteamVR wirelessly using WiFi 6 instead of the Link Cable found on the Neo 3 Link.
